医療のマルチメディア化が急速に進展するなか，診療・教育・研究のあらゆる場面においてデジタル医用画像の利用が広がりつつあります。しかし現状では，表示装置等における色の再現性が標準化されていないため，全く同一の情報を転送・複製できるというデジタル画像の特長が損なわれ，機種によって診断が変わる恐れがあるなど，大きな問題が見落とされたままです。今後遠隔医療や電子カルテの普及が見込まれる今，これらを未然に解決しておくことは，医療界全体にかかわる喫緊の課題です。 そこで，医学医療の各分野におけるデジタル医用画像の「色」の現状を把握し，医師・看護婦およびコメディカル，あるいはさらに広く色に関連するさまざまな立場の方々による問題意識の共有と，解決に向けたコンセンサスの形成を目途とし，本シンポジウムを企画いたしました。活発で有意義な議論が交わされますよう，多くの方々のご参加をお待ち申し上げます。 なお本シンポジウムの開催にあたっては，ご後援いただいている（財）医療情報システム開発センター（MEDIS-DC）をはじめ，共催の文部省形態検査インターネットサーベイ研究班，各界を代表するパネリストおよびセミナー講師の方々，ご協賛いただいている各社の皆様に，多大なお力添えをいただきました。この場を借りて厚くお礼申し上げます。 |

In the medical area, intensive use of the multimedia technology is rapidly progressing, and digital images will soon be common not only in medical practice, but also in medical education and research activities. Though, there is no standard of the color reproduction of digital images for various displays, and two identical images may be diagnosed differently if they are displayed using different equipments. This problem will arise in almost all medical fields, especially in the telemedicine and in the electronic medical records, so a comprehensive solution must be given before the spread of these equipments without any standardization. From this point of view, a symposium will be set up to identify the problems on 'color' of digital images in various medical fields, and to establish some consensus on the solution of these problems among concerned people who have various backgrounds. A lot of participants and rich and fruitful discussions by them are enthusiastically expected. This symposium is supported by the Medical Information System Development Center (MEDIS-DC), Morphorogical Internet Survey Research Project Team, panelists, speakers and companies.
